Iniza 4 Cepas is a blend of Tempranillo, Syrah (30% each), Merlot and Petit Verdot. The first three varieties are harvested at the beginning of September, the Petit Verdot towards the end of the month. The wine undergoes sixteen day maceration with regular pumping over and is then aged in different American barrels for eight months.
The colour is dark, opaque with violet tints, the nose expresses ripe blackberries and red fruits with minerals, a touch of scorched earth and spices. Full-bodied, soft and savoury with plush chocolate and cinnamon sprinkled-fruits, minerals, held in check by discernible acidity and perfectly integrated tannins.

Cortijo de la Vieja is situated on the slopes of Sierra de Gador mountain, with magnificent views of the Mulhacen, Spain’s highest mountain, and other peaks on the Sierra Nevada mountain range. It is nestled in a little valley, with dramatic and sunny landscape, apparently untouched by time, full of vineyards, olive and almond. The surrounding hills are covered in thyme, rosemary, and esparto grass, and dotted with pine, carob and wild olive trees.
The 25 hectares vineyards lie 800m above sea level and are planted with a range of varieties: Syrah, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Garnacha Tinta and Tintorera (red grapes),
and Jaén, Vigiriega, Chardonnay and Macabeo (white grapes).
Rainfall is scarce and happens mainly in Autumn, summers are very dry with hot days and cool nights, making the wines strongly aromatic, with concentrated colours and ripe tannins. It also keeps the vineyards extremely healthy.
The soils are loamy, poor in organic matter, stony and full of slate in some places, and traditional, organic farming methods are used.
