Brothers and sister Marco, Richard and Alejandra Sanz run this certified organic estate in Rueda, South of Valladolid. The estate has 160 ha in production (including 30 ha of pre-phylloxera vines). The soil-type consist of sandy clay and are covered with pebbles in most part. Hand-harvesting, use of carbonic snow instead of sulphur, natural yeasts and low yields are some of the techniques used to produce the trade-mark Menade style of pure and expressive wines.
Menade’s Sauvignon Blanc has found a good home in Rueda. Highly aromatic nose of basil, mint and coriander mingled
with tropical fruits. The mid-palate is softly textured then gives way to plenty of papaya, passionfruit and tangerine. Clean
and refreshing acidity on the finish – a youthful and modern expression of sauvignon blanc.
