“The Cotes de Castillon appears to have enjoyed a more consistent 2003 vintage than many of the right bank appellations. This excellent estate, run by the owner of Faugeres, Corinne Guisez, who has St.-Emilion vineyards abutting Cap de Faugeres, has fashioned a very fine, possibly outstanding 2003. Deep ruby/purple-hued with aromas of smoke, charcoal, blackberries, and assorted blue fruits, this medium-bodied, substantial offering reveals loads of concentration, terrific purity, and fine overall balance.
