“Madame Corrine Guisez, who owns the more famous St.-Emilion estate of Chateau Faugeres, has hit a home run with this terrific sleeper of the vintage. A large-scaled, opulently-textured, inky/purple-colored effort, it boasts a rich, sumptuous perfume of camphor, black raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries. It is a rich, full-bodied wine to enjoy over the next decade.” Wine advocate April 2005 90-92pts

Product Description

CAP DE FAUGERES, Cotes de Castillon
85 % Merlot, 10 % Cabernet Franc, 5 % Cabernet Sauvignon

“The Cotes de Castillon appears to have enjoyed a more consistent 2003 vintage than many of the right bank appellations. This excellent estate, run by the owner of Faugeres, Corinne Guisez, who has St.-Emilion vineyards abutting Cap de Faugeres, has fashioned a very fine, possibly outstanding 2003. Deep ruby/purple-hued with aromas of smoke, charcoal, blackberries, and assorted blue fruits, this medium-bodied, substantial offering reveals loads of concentration, terrific purity, and fine overall balance. Enjoy it over the next decade. It is a sleeper of the vintage.” Wine advocate April 2004
