This estate was officially born in 2002, when Domaine Lucien Boillot was split between brothers Louis and Pierre. Louis inherited 7 ha of vineyards in both Côtes de Nuits and Côte de Beaune and has recently moved his cellar with his wife Ghislaine Barthod in Chambolle-Musigny. The consistency of Louis’s range is quite impressive; his wines are whistle-clean, deeply-flavoured and elegant Burgundies.
“Since 2005 Louis Boillot has been no less consistent than his wife, Ghislaine Barthod, which is a high, high compliment in my book.” Allen Meadow, Burghound.com
Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes has a wonderfully ripe and luscious texture, with compact flavours of black cherry, and creamy strawberry, perfectly balanced by a racy acidity and well-integrated tannins which follow a moderately perfumed nose of violet, dark berries and woodlands. Built to last.
