Nikoladzeebis Marani was founded in 2007 by Ramaz Nikoladze on the base of his ancestors’ vineyard and typical Imeretian cellar in Nakhshirgele. Natural winemaking methods are used in both the cellars and the vineyards.
Ramaz Nikoladze, Imeretian grower and winemaker extraordinaire is also host of Gvino Underground Wine Bar in Tbilisi. His vineyards have extensive cover crop planting provide a veritable salad bar between the vines. The vineyard is less than a hectare, on a gentle slope surrounded by forest.
The Tsitska grape variety (synonyms of this variety are Shanti and Mamali Tsitska) is considered to be one of the best and most widespread cultivars in Upper and Central Imereti. Shimmering green-gold, apple-blossom and wild herbs with brilliant acidity and a mineral energy.
