The Tamellini family have been making wine in Soave for over a hundred years, but it was a chance meeting in 1998 with enologist Paolo Caciorgna that the family came to the realization that their 21-ha hillside vineyards planted entirely with Garganega were of an exceptional potential for fine wine production. In these short twelve years, brothers Gaetano and Pio Tamellini have become one of the reference points of the area. They believe in using only Garganega in their wines, late picking ensuring the total ripeness; the grape are not de-stemmed and are cooled off in a cold room for 15 hours before pressing.
There is no trace of oak barrel in the whole, newly fitted winery, yet the wines are showing a deep lemon gold colour, reminiscent of Burgundy in both appearance and palate-weight and structure.
