Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Chaignots has a sweet cherry, raspberry, and currant-scented nose. This is an expansive, medium-bodied wine with excellent depth of fruit - morello cherry, raspberry, and strawberry. It is pretty, elegant, and has a long, seamless finish

DOMAINE CHAUVENET-CHOPIN, Nuits-Saint-Georges
Domaine Chauvenet was born in 1975, and Hubert took over from his father in 1985.
In 2001, he officially acquired the vineyards of his father in law, Daniel Chopin (of Domaine Chopin-Groffier fame) who retired in 1997. From his carefully-tended vineyards, Hubert crafts luscious, friendly wines, with plenty of structure and character.

“All good things must end, as 1996 marks Daniel Chopin's last vintage. Burgundy, and wine
lovers, are losing a man who for years crafted luscious, friendly, and smile-inducing wines. Always supple, opulent, seductive, and fruit-driven, Chopin's offerings will continue to bring joy to those that have squirreled them away. Starting with the 1997 vintage, his son-in-law and pupil, Hubert Chauvenet (Domaine Chauvenet-Chopin), will take over this estate's vineyards. May Daniel Chopin enjoy retirement as much as I have enjoyed his wines.” Robert Parker
