Lo-Fi Wines, Cabernet Franc (Cocquelicot vineyard)

€44,50

Lo-Fi Cabernet Franc from Coquelicot vineyard Santa Barbara county. Lo-Fi’s ethos is to “embrace the unpredictable and uncontrollable factors in vintage and vinification, much like an audiophile derives pleasure from the clicks, pops, and hiss of their favorite vinyl records”

The wine feels alive and joyful on the palate, very happy drink, Mike says the maceration was shorter, like 8 days, allowing for more fruity notes and easyness. Every year they make this type of light fruity wine, choosing the shorter maceration. They want something not complicated, easy to drink for this springtime cuvée. The idea is do like Pierre Breton and Catherine Breton when they make their Dilettante rouge, just an enjoyable wine that is not supposed to be earth shattering.

LO-FI WINES, MIKE ROTH & CRAIG WINCHESTER, LOS ALAMOS Biodynamic
Lo-Fi is a partnership between two lifelong friends who believe in hand crafted honest wines that are made for every day drinking. Wines to be enjoyed not to be collected. Easy drinking lower alcohol wines made to pair well with all types of foods. Mike Roth believes in neutral barrels, native yeasts, little to no sulphur additions, and no adjustment of pH. He loves whole cluster fermentation. We adore carbonic maceration and embraces a nothing-added, nothing taken away philosophy that gives birth to wines that are young, vibrant and alive. But in all reality Lo-Fi is less about what it is and more about what it is not.
