Available from Thursday 16th November 2017!
What better way to celebrate after all the hard work of the harvest than to have a party to celebrate those first wines of the year, the nouveaux?
This year the new wines will be released on Thursday 16th November 2017 and will give us a first glimpse of the character of the vintage (as well as an excuse to glug copious amounts of delicious, food-friendly juice with like-minded friends!).
This is the fifth year we propose a selection of Beaujolais Nouveau from small growers who are producing authentic, joyous Gamays by picking healthy, usually organically-grown grapes and not messing around with the juice in the cellars.
Didier Desvignes is one of a number of small, artisan growers whose dynamism and vision are driving the new quality focus of Beaujolais wines. The best producers of this region are now producing some of the most delicious, food-friendly and under-priced wines in France- no ‘goût de banane’ here! These light-bodied wines have crunchy raspberry and sour-cherry fruit flavours, soft tannins and fresh acidity. This kind of structure means that they can be drunk slightly cool and complement a wide variety of foods: white or red meats, charcuterie, soft cheeses.
This cuvee is made from hand-picked grapes, using local yeasts, not chaptalized and no sulphites added.
