DOMAINE FABRICE ET ANTONIN LACOUR, St Sernin du Plain
This father and son team run a 13-ha estate in the appelations Côtes du Couchois, Hautes Côtes de Beaune and Bourgogne. Antonin, in his mid-twenties (captain of Couches rugby team) is now working full time at the estate.
The Côtes du Couchois is a tiny appellation (a mere 8 ha planted) located South of Maranges, at altitude between 300 to 420m.The rich soils in these areas gives the wines good tannic structure, and saline character This relatively unknown area of Burgundy is the source of authentic and very well priced wines. With the arrival of Antonin, the Lacours are converting to farming in sustainable manner and are adopting low intervention approach in the cellar.
