LOUIS BOILLOT, VOLNAY 1er Cru les Brouillards 2013

€64,95
Volnay 1er Cru Brouillards is quite pretty with an earthy red pinot fruit nose that hides glimpses of spice nuances that continue onto the rich, round and textured flavours supported by ever so mildly rustic tannins and a powerful finish that displays Pommard-like leanings.

'Elegant, slightly earthy red cherry fruits, now fully mature, with the classic refinement of Volnay.' John Wilson, Irish Times Bottle of the Week - Sat. 2nd August 2014

Louis Boillot estate was officially born in 2002, when Domaine Lucien Boillot was split between brothers Louis and Pierre. Louis inherited 7 ha of vineyards in both Côtes de Nuits and Côte de Beaune and has recently moved his cellar with his wife Ghislaine Barthod in Chambolle-Musigny. The consistency of Louis’s range is quite impressive; his wines are whistle-clean, deeply-flavoured and elegant Burgundies.

"Since 2005 Louis Boillot has been no less consistent than his wife, Ghislaine Barthod, which is a high, high compliment in my book." Allen Meadow, Burghound.com
