red: Terrane Rouge, Labastide de Levis (Organic principles, Braucoul, Duras, Merlot - Gaillac, Southern France) Terrane Rouge is a blend of local varieties Braucoul (Fer Servadou), Duras and a little Merlot. The short maceration has concentrated the juicy aromas without over-extraction. The result is a limpid and joyful red wine, exhibiting primary red fruit – raspberry, cherry and wild berries – a perfect bistro red. ----------
red: Albizu Caminante Tempranillo, Vina Albergada (Organic principles, Tempranillo - Rioja, Spain) Albizu has a very expressive nose of plum, dark and red berries with meaty hints, the palate is juicy and fresh with lots of ripe, sweet fruit. The finish is well balanced and refreshing. Delicious on its own, served slightly cool, and very versatile with barbecued meats and tapas style food. ----------------------
white: Madregale Bianco, Cantine Tollo (Organic principles, Trebbiano, Chardonnay - Abruzzo, Italy) Madregale Bianco is a zippy, fresh white made from Chardonnay along with Tebbiano d’Abruzzo. A superb quality ‘house wine’, this is made from hand harvested grapes and indigenous yeast fermentation, which may well account for its bright, fresh drinkability. Uncomplicated, but very well made. Dry, with appley fruit and a lightly tropical citrus edge, this is easy to drink on its own as an aperitif or would complement light seafood or pasta dishes like spahetti with clams.
white: Cuvée Marine, Domaine de Ménard (Organic principles, Colombard, Gros Manseng, Sauvignon) Cuvée Marine is a blend of 60% Colombard with 20% each of Sauvignon Blanc and Gros Manseng, is the direct result of all the care and effort in the vineyard, the wine shows great purity of fruit with a racy mineral, sea-infused edge. Very aromatic, with scents of white flowers, pear drop and honey suckle; the palate is crisp and gives an instant impression of freshness. Very clean, with exuberant flavours of aniseed, exotic fruit, pear and menthol hints, it ends with fresh, gripping notes of minerals.
